Hi, I’m Alec!

I am a scientist, musician, and maker who excels at product design, 3D printing, and scientific research.

I graduated from Yale with a B.S. in Chemistry in 2022, where I performed research on CRISPR gene therapy, interdisciplinary remote disease detection, and quantum chemistry. I also interned in both chemical and consumer electronic product design.

I decided to pursue my talents in oboe performance at the Yale School of Music, where I could simultaneously continue my interests in academics and engineering. While maintaining a rigorous performance schedule and entering competitions, I took advanced math courses, hosted workshops, and co-taught courses as a graduate teaching fellow in chemistry, acoustics, and product design.

Feel free to reach out if you are interested about learning more about me or my work!

I am passionate about building things, designing cool new products, and leading hands-on education. Through my various roles at the Yale Center for Engineering Innovation & Design, I’ve had the opportunity to create innovative gadgets, advise undergraduate projects, and serve underrepresented communities through educational workshops.

My core competencies include 3D printing/modeling, CNC machining, PCB design, coding (Python, C++, R), data analysis, and machine learning along with broad knowledge in quantum physics, chemistry, and biochemistry.

I am also a nationally acclaimed classical oboist and have performed in Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Colorado Public Radio, and minor league sporting events.
